The Intelligent Payments platform was conceived in 2009, by some key IT, payments and fraud experts. The platform was the in-house payment gateway of a large pan European eCommerce merchant. It was designed to specifically address the fraud, PCI and reporting needs of the merchant. Within a short space of time the group recognised the opportunity to deliver similar solutions to other merchants and so Intelligent Payments was created as an independent company.

In 2012, Intelligent Payment merged with ITPS, a specialist payments firm with offices in Dublin and Malta. The principals of ITPS were the founders of OmniPay - Brian Connolly Executive Chairman and Conor Quirke Group CEO. During their ten years at OmniPay the business developed from start-up status to one of the largest payment processers providing bespoke services to merchant acquirers globally. First Data Corp acquired OmniPay in 2006.

Intelligent Payment is now a privately owned payment processor for merchants in the eCommerce and mCommerce sectors. We support some of the largest eCommerce merchants in Europe, and the footprint of those merchants
 

takes us beyond Europe. Innovation is at the heart of everything we do, and it is through innovation that we differentiate ourselves from our competitors. We have developed a platform that is flexible to merchant's needs, with products and services available through a modular framework of choice.

One of our core competences is that we can develop tailored solutions for merchants with specific sector needs. This is driven by our experience with complex gaming merchants where we have developed advanced fraud tools and superior mobile commerce solutions for high volume merchants. We are at the forefront of hospitality payments with unique booking engine products, covering PCI compliance and outsourcing of secure card data entry and transmission to hotels throughout the world. Our reach with acquirers across borders has won us prestigious eCommerce retailers, achieving cost savings through least cost routing and multi country acquirers.
